Camellia sinensis is the original tea plant.
Plant it in your orangery and enjoy the fragrant white flowers.
Can be placed on the terrace in the summer and in the conservatory/orangery in the winter.
New green shoots can be harvested throughout the summer for tea.
Large, beautiful plant in a 5 l pot.
How to harvest tea leaves: From April to September, cut the small light green shoot tips with 2-3 leaves.
It is cut approximately every 3 weeks.
Place the shoot tips in a dry, shady place for at least a week.
The leaves are then dried in the oven at 150 °C for 10 minutes.
The leaves are stored for 2 months in a paper bag to develop the aromatic substances.
Then the dry leaves are placed in a tea tin.
How to make green tea Boil 1 l of water and add 1/3 l of 20°C hot water (final temperature not exceeding 80°C)
Fill the teapot, put 20 dried shoot tips in the pot and let the tea steep for 2-3 minutes.
The teapot may be filled twice – often the second time is the best tea.
