- Camellia sinensis is the original tea plant.
- Plant it in your orangery and enjoy the fragrant white flowers.
- Can be placed on the terrace in the summer and in the conservatory/orangery in the winter.
- New green shoots can be harvested throughout the summer for tea.
- Large, beautiful plant in a 5 l pot.
- How to harvest tea leaves: From April to September, cut the small light green shoot tips with 2-3 leaves.
- It is cut approximately every 3 weeks.
- Place the shoot tips in a dry, shady place for at least a week.
- The leaves are then dried in the oven at 150 °C for 10 minutes.
- The leaves are stored for 2 months in a paper bag to develop the aromatic substances.
- Then the dry leaves are placed in a tea tin.
- How to make green tea Boil 1 l of water and add 1/3 l of 20°C hot water (final temperature not exceeding 80°C)
- Fill the teapot, put 20 dried shoot tips in the pot and let the tea steep for 2-3 minutes.
- The teapot may be filled twice – often the second time is the best tea.
