Shrub roses help to give the garden character. Many bloom early and before traditional roses, and most of them are fragrant. Shrub roses are hardy and can be planted anywhere, including many of them close to the North Sea, or on the terrace of the summer house. Not all of them bloom all summer, but then you have the beautiful rose hips, which have a very different appearance. They are not cut down in the spring like traditional roses, but a branch is thinned here and there, so that something new starts. Shrub roses are also suitable for hedges. We have a number of special shrub roses that we have collected. Here I can mention the Cinnamon Rose, which grows at Stadil Church, and which the monks brought with them, it can only be found in two places in Denmark. The Cinnamon Rose can also be seen in the Rose Garden.
