- A herb that produces the most beautiful reddish-purple, decorative leaves. Used not only in Asian cuisine, but also as a beautiful color contrast in the flower bed.
- The leaves have a fresh and slightly spicy, minty flavor. They are harvested young and can be used in sushi, salads and dressings, among other things.
- Thrives in sun to partial shade in a porous, nutrient-rich soil. Water when dry. Press the seeds lightly into the soil. After sowing, keep the soil moist until germination is well underway.
